Sui Mainnet Restored, Confirms Both Downtimes Stemmed from Same Software Bug

Both the incident today and the two network outages yesterday were related to an interaction issue between the "Address Balance" feature introduced in version 1.72 and the Gas fee logic. The solution deployed yesterday was only a temporary measure to quickly restore network operation, but it had a known low-probability risk of causing another outage.

Today, a variant of this known issue was triggered again, resulting in another temporary mainnet shutdown.
