Trump Reinstates $10 Billion Lawsuit Over Wall Street Journal's Epstein Coverage

BlockBeats News, May 28th – U.S. President Trump has once again filed a $10 billion defamation lawsuit against The Wall Street Journal and its parent company News Corporation in response to an article discussing his close relationship with Jeffrey Epstein. The initial lawsuit for the same case was previously dismissed by a judge. The revised complaint was filed late Wednesday night in a Florida federal court, just before the deadline set by the judge.

Earlier, the plaintiff's initial lawsuit was dismissed because the judge ruled that they had not adequately demonstrated that the article was published with "actual malice" towards Trump – a high bar in defamation lawsuits against public figures. Trump's lawsuit targets an article published by The Wall Street Journal in July 2025, alleging that Trump had sent a "vulgar" birthday card to Epstein in 2003, a claim Trump has repeatedly stated to be fabricated.
