U.S. Media: U.S. Military Deployed and Ready to Attack Cuba

BlockBeats News, May 28th, according to Politico, despite the ongoing Iran conflict, the U.S. Navy's deployment in the Caribbean has not been reduced. The Pentagon has been preparing the forces needed to attack Cuba for months, awaiting only Trump's approval.

After unsuccessful economic and diplomatic pressure, Trump has proposed invading Cuba. The current U.S. Navy forces assembled in the region — the largest globally outside the Middle East — enable immediate action by the U.S. military. These deployments set the groundwork for either capturing Cuban leaders or conducting precision strikes.

U.S. Secretary of State Pompeo stated at a Cabinet meeting on Wednesday that Cuba is in a "very difficult situation" and the "failed state" only 90 miles from the U.S. poses a threat to American security. The current size of the U.S. fleet in the region is slightly smaller than during the Maduro capture in January. However, the USS Nimitz carrier strike group and multiple missile destroyers and cruisers have entered the Caribbean. U.S. drones and reconnaissance aircraft have been flying around Cuba for months. The USS Kearsarge amphibious assault ship is ready for deployment.
