Aztec Labs Acquires ZKPassport Development Team Obsidion

BlockBeats News, May 28th, Aztec Labs announced the acquisition of the privacy identity verification protocol ZKPassport development team Obsidion, with the transaction terms undisclosed. Obsidion's co-founders Michael Elliot and Theo Madzou and their team will join Aztec Labs to continue developing ZKPassport and explore new consumer-facing product directions.

Aztec Labs stated that they will maintain the openness of the ZKPassport protocol and iOS app, with relevant proofs generated on both browsers and mobile devices, allowing for verification in non-blockchain scenarios by the server-side or on the Aztec Network, Ethereum, and any EVM chain.
