BlockBeats News, May 26th, according to Reuters, the EU is planning to fine Google nearly 1 billion euros, which would be the largest fine imposed by the EU under the Digital Markets Act (DMA), expected to be officially announced before the summer break.
The investigation was officially launched in March 2025, with the core accusation being that Google prioritized its own services in search results, violating the relevant DMA regulations. The European Commission stated that its primary goal is to ensure Google's compliance, rather than simply imposing a fine, but emphasized that there would be no hesitation in advancing follow-up actions. Google, on the other hand, criticized the DMA regulations for causing the biggest-ever degradation of its search product and expressed hope to resolve the dispute as soon as possible.
