Prometheum Launches Traditional Broker-Dealer Grade Tokenized Securities and Cryptocurrency Asset Trading Service

BlockBeats News, May 25th - U.S.-based digital asset infrastructure company Prometheum announced the launch of a digital brokerage solution for broker-dealers and registered investment advisors (RIAs), allowing traditional brokerage accounts to directly offer tokenized securities and cryptocurrency asset trading, custody, and clearing services.

Prometheum Co-founder and Co-CEO Aaron Kaplan stated that while the crypto industry has solved the "asset tokenization" issue, it has yet to address the "distribution" problem, resulting in many on-chain security products failing to reach mainstream investors.

Kaplan mentioned that there are already hundreds of billions of dollars in tokenized securities issued on-chain, but lacking support from traditional brokerage channels, making it challenging to achieve large-scale user coverage. "If tokenized assets cannot enter the brokerage system that investors are already using, then tokenization is just a solution without a market."

Prometheum is betting that Wall Street's traditional financial institutions will lead the next stage of on-chain financial development. The company currently holds a full license system with SEC registration and FINRA membership, covering issuance, trading, custody, clearing, and settlement, and joined the DTCC (Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation) tokenization working group in May of this year.

Prometheum stated that in the coming months, more broker-dealers and RIAs will join its infrastructure and plans to launch on-chain distribution partnerships for large institutional issuers. Kaplan emphasized that the future of the capital markets will gradually "move to the chain," but the key is not to replace the existing financial system but to upgrade it through faster settlement, lower costs, and broader distribution capabilities.
