BlockBeats News, May 25th, BitMine Chairman Tom Lee tweeted that FTSE Russell has released the preliminary list of additions and deletions. BitMine (BMNR) is on the preliminary list of additions to the large-cap Russell 1000, with a market capitalization exceeding the $5.7 billion minimum threshold for large-cap inclusion. Tom Lee stated that many actively managed funds only buy stocks in the Russell 1000 index, with 20% to 25% of a single stock's market value typically held by passive index funds or ETFs.
Based on BitMine's current $10.75 billion market cap, if successfully included, BitMine will attract at least $2.15 billion in buying pressure.
According to the schedule, the Russell index will be reconstituted after the U.S. market close on June 26th (Friday), with the new index components' weights taking effect at the market open on June 29th (Monday). The final confirmation of BitMine's formal entry into the Russell 1000 will depend on the June updates and the ultimate list confirmation in June.
