BlockBeats News, May 21st. According to market sources, the United States has granted a license allowing a major shipbreaking buyer to purchase four vessels sanctioned for carrying goods related to Iran.
This move may provide a legal exit path for some vessels of the "shadow fleet" used by Iran and Russia to transport sanctioned goods, a fleet that has expanded under Western sanctions. These Iran-associated network vessels will be dismantled for recycling. U.S. officials stated that this case-by-case licensing approach may be used more widely to help clear high-risk vessels from the global waters.
