Anthropic's Enterprise AI Adoption Overtakes OpenAI, with Claude Leading the Pack with a 34.4% Market Share

BlockBeats News, May 15th, a report based on enterprise AI usage data shows that in April 2026, Anthropic's enterprise AI adoption rate reached 34.4%, surpassing OpenAI's 32.3% for the first time, becoming the leading generative AI provider in enterprise market share.

The data shows that the overall US enterprise AI adoption rate has risen to 50.6%, with enterprises rapidly increasing their reliance on large-scale model tools. The Claude model processes over 25 billion API calls per month, with approximately 45% coming from enterprise users.

The report points out that Anthropic's growth is mainly attributed to its strong products in software development and document-intensive workflows (such as Claude Code), with high penetration in industries such as finance, law, and research and development.

Meanwhile, over 70% of the Fortune 100 companies have to some extent accessed Claude-related tools, driving its scalable application in enterprise scenarios.

The analysis suggests that the enterprise AI market is transitioning from a "brand-led phase" to a "performance- and cost-driven multi-vendor competitive landscape," with decreasing model switching costs leading to increased market share volatility.

However, the data also indicates that the competition remains highly dynamic, with enterprises rapidly responding to price, performance, and stability changes in model selection, where a leading advantage could see a quick reversal in a short period.
