BlockBeats News, May 15th. Iranian official media reported that Iranian Foreign Minister Zarif publicly accused the UAE of directly participating in military actions against Iran during the BRICS meeting held in New Delhi on Thursday, fully exposing the diplomatic dispute between the two countries.
The diplomatic dispute arose a day before, as the UAE officially denied Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu's claim of a secret visit to the UAE during the Iran-Iraq war.
Zarif further pointed out that relying on U.S. military bases and forming an alliance with Israel cannot truly ensure UAE's security. He called on the UAE to reconsider its policy towards Iran. He emphasized that regional countries should coexist peacefully, requiring Iran and the UAE to establish cordial bilateral relations and achieve comprehensive mutual understanding.
Due to the intense diplomatic differences between Iran and the UAE, Iranian media questioned whether the final joint communique would be issued at the India BRICS Foreign Ministers' meeting. Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi candidly stated that with the UAE's participation, the meeting has encountered significant obstacles and disagreements in communication and coordination.
