According to Perceiving AI monitoring, Reactor, a new company founded by a former Apple and Luma AI core member, has just launched a playtest entry for its "Real-Time World Model." This is an AI model that can follow user actions and instantly generate 3D scenes. To eliminate the high barrier of entry for local hardware, Reactor is running the model directly on its self-hosted global low-latency cloud nodes, allowing users to experience it directly through a web browser.
In a demo presented by co-founder and CTO Bryce Schmidtchen, a red sports car is seen driving in an alien desert. As the car turns, the rough terrain and a distant massive planet are all calculated in real time by AI, seamlessly keeping up with the player's control rhythm. This demo has already attracted over 7.8 million views.
Reactor aims to turn videos into a "programmable software." In the future, AI videos will no longer be lifeless files produced by waiting for prompts; instead, you will directly have a generative world that can take over and interact with you at any time.
