Iran Warns Ships Not to Cross Hormuz Strait Without Permission

BlockBeats News, May 6th, according to The Wall Street Journal, on Wednesday, ships attempting to pass through the Strait of Hormuz received a verbal warning from the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Navy, stating that the waterway remains closed. A Greek shipowner waiting for passage through the strait received a recorded message, warning all ships in the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman that any vessel approaching the strait without permission or deviating from the designated route will be "targeted for action."

Iran's state television reported that about 1,500 ships are currently preparing to pass through the Strait of Hormuz, and added that these ships will be unable to complete the journey if they do not obtain permission from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Navy. (FXStreet)
