AMD CEO Lisa Su: The AI Agent is driving a significant increase in demand for computing power during the AI cycle, leading to a substantial boost in CPU market growth expectations.

BlockBeats News, May 6th, AMD CEO Lisa Su said in an interview with CNBC that the AI Agent is driving a significant demand for computing power throughout the entire AI cycle, and has significantly raised the CPU market growth expectations. Enterprises have begun to truly see the value of AI to their businesses, and adoption is rapidly increasing. In addition to AI accelerators, CPU demand is also strong, as the new generation of AI Agents requires more general computing power support.

She pointed out that in the past, the market generally believed that the CPU to GPU demand ratio was around 1:4 or even 1:8, but now it has become close to 1:1. AMD had previously forecasted in November 2025 that the CPU addressable market's annual growth rate would be around 18% to 20%. This has now been raised to over 35%, and it is expected that the CPU market size will exceed $120 billion by 2030. Lisa Su stated that the practicality and commercialization speed of AI are faster than expected six months ago, which is also a validation of AMD's long-term AI trend assessment.
