BlockBeats News, May 1st. According to sources, the cryptocurrency market structure bill may advance in mid-May. This Wednesday, key figures involved in cryptocurrency legislation negotiations, including Republican Senator Thom Tillis of North Carolina, revealed that the Senate Banking Committee Chairman, Republican Senator Tim Scott of South Carolina, has been asked to "expedite scheduling" a hearing to revise and vote on the bill.
In addition, another negotiator this week, Angela Alsobrooks, mentioned that if lawmakers want a bipartisan vote in the Senate Banking Committee, they must address issues of illegal financing and ethics. However, Chairman Scott stated that he believes the ethics provision does not need to go through his committee's review. It is currently unclear where this provision will move next and whether it should be reviewed by other committees, but discussions are likely to take place before it is brought to a vote in the full Senate.
