Caixin: Prominent Female Lawyer in Chongqing Missing, Possibly Connected to Mayor Hu Xinghua Stablecoin Bribery Money Laundering Case

BlockBeats News, May 1st. According to Caixin, citing multiple independent sources, Peng Jing, founding partner and director of Chongqing Jing Sheng Law Firm, was recently taken away for investigation by relevant authorities. It is speculated that this is related to the case of former Chongqing Mayor Hu Henghua and Chongqing Municipal Committee member and Secretary of the Liangjiang New Area Committee Luo Lin.

Information from the Chongqing political and business circles indicates that both Hu Henghua and Luo Lin's downfall were related to bribery and money laundering using stablecoins, with Peng Jing allegedly assisting in fund handling under the guise of "legal fees". Sources revealed that Lin Kechuang, the son-in-law of Lin Xiucheng, once paid 30.8 million USDT to Hu Henghua, equivalent to RMB 210 million.

After the investigation of Hu Henghua, the authorities took control of his cold wallet and further traced the funds in another six cold wallets held by Lin Kechuang. Among them, 15.5 million USDT was reportedly transferred to Luo Lin. Reports indicate that after Luo Lin was taken away, a cold wallet hidden by him at a third-party location was subsequently seized.
