According to Dongcha Beating monitoring, the AI model routing platform OpenRouter has launched a new anonymous model named Owl Alpha, marketed as "Stealth," without attributing it to any development team. The model is designed for agent workloads, natively supports tool invocation, has a context window of approximately 1.05 million tokens, a maximum output of 262K tokens, uses the int8 quantization format, and is compatible with mainstream tools such as Claude Code and OpenClaw. It is free to use, but all prompts and outputs will be logged by the provider for model improvement purposes.
Previously, OpenRouter had at least three anonymous models that were eventually confirmed to originate from Chinese companies: Pony Alpha in February was later confirmed by Zhipei as GLM-5; Hunter Alpha in March was later attributed to Xiaomi; Elephant Alpha was claimed by Ant Group as Lingxi Ling-2.6-flash two weeks later. Currently, no company has come forward to claim ownership of Owl Alpha, but the same anonymous release pattern and free data exchange strategy have led the community to speculate that it is also backed by a Chinese firm.
