BlockBeats News, April 28th - According to sources familiar with the matter who spoke to CNN, the Pakistani side involved in the mediation process is expected to receive a revised proposal from Iran in the next few days aimed at ending the war, after U.S. President Trump indicated his rejection of the earlier version of the proposal. The sources stated that Iranian Foreign Minister Zarif, after his visit to Russia, is expected to return to Tehran to engage with the country's leadership. Due to difficulties in communication with Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei (whose whereabouts are undisclosed), the progress of this process has been slow.
Trump had previously stated that he would not accept the version Iran submitted over the weekend – which proposed ending the war first and leaving the thorny issues related to Iran's nuclear program for a later stage. Sources familiar with the matter indicated that this process is still ongoing and full of uncertainties, largely depending on whether Iran will put forward a revised proposal more acceptable to the U.S. side.
