BlockBeats News, April 28th, according to market sources, the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) has recently suggested to some crude oil buyers to transfer the delivery port from the area inside the Strait of Hormuz to the Fujairah Port on the coast of the Arabian Sea in Oman, in order to mitigate the impact of regional tensions on energy transport.
The Fujairah Port is located outside the Strait of Hormuz, allowing oil tankers to directly enter the Arabian Sea without passing through sensitive waters, and is considered an important "backup export route" for the UAE to address the potential strait blockade risk.
The adjustment is supported by the completed ADCOP (Abu Dhabi Crude Oil Pipeline to Fujairah) pipeline, which can transport Abu Dhabi crude oil directly to the east coast export terminal, bypassing the Strait of Hormuz.
Analysts believe that against the backdrop of ongoing tension in the Middle East, the UAE is proactively restructuring the crude oil export route to enhance supply stability and market attractiveness through "offshore shipping." With more buyers shifting to Fujairah for delivery, the port is transitioning from a traditional bunkering port to a global key energy export hub.
