BlockBeats News, April 27th. According to Reuters, Washington journalist Andy Sullivan stated that the shooting incident at the Black-Tie Gala took place in an underground ballroom of a hotel. During the event, people could still use the hotel facilities normally, such as checking in and getting taxis. The suspect referred to this as a "crazy security loophole."
White House reporter Jacob Bogage commented: "The hotel entrance and back door had some additional facilities to ensure the security of VIPs entering and exiting. The security check was sometimes loose and sometimes strict. At one point, my invitation was inside an envelope, and I just showed the back of the envelope to a person, and they let me through. Another time, I took out the invitation and waved it around—it could have been anything, as in reality, no one even looked at the invitation clearly and just let me in."
