A man in the United States has been sentenced to 70 months in prison for his involvement in a $263 million cryptocurrency scam.

BlockBeats News, April 26th, 22-year-old California resident Evan Tangeman was sentenced to 70 months in prison on Friday for his involvement in a social engineering scam and home invasion robbery that resulted in the theft of approximately $263 million in cryptocurrency from the victim.


According to the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) announcement, Tangeman had pleaded guilty to the charges in December 2025 and admitted to helping launder at least $3.5 million of illicit funds for the criminal organization members. The DOJ stated that in addition to the prison sentence, he was also sentenced to three years of supervised release.
