According to Dongcha Beating monitoring, the WeChat official account "Top Chinese Tech Innovation Community" revealed that Associate Professor Dai Jifeng of Tsinghua University's Department of Electronic Engineering founded Naive.ai to train agents after open-source model training. The total funding amount is approximately $300 million, with a valuation of around $800 million. The investors include top-tier funds and tech giants, with specific institutions undisclosed.
Dai Jifeng is a renowned scholar in the field of computer vision, known for his work on deformable convolutional networks and the multimodal foundational model InternVL, with a total paper citation count exceeding 50,000. He previously served as a chief researcher at Microsoft Research Asia, then moved to SenseTime as the Executive Director of Research, before returning to Tsinghua University in 2022. In 2025, he joined MiroMind, an AI company incubated by Chen Tianqiao's Shanda Network, as a co-founder.
Several media outlets previously reported that due to compliance reasons, MiroMind ceased its operations in China in January this year, leading to Dai Jifeng's resignation. The leak stated that his new company's core team includes former MiroMind members and co-founder Zhu Xizhou, who obtained his joint Ph.D. from USTC and Microsoft Research Asia, and previously served as a senior researcher at SenseTime and a young researcher at Shanghai AI Lab.
