Argentina Arrests Chinese National Suspect of Cryptocurrency Scam for Using a Fake Passport to Enter the Country, Involving Approximately $49.4 million

BlockBeats News, April 21st, according to DL News, Argentine police arrested a Chinese man (abbreviated as DZ) at the Ezeiza International Airport in Buenos Aires. The suspect arrived from Paris holding a forged Paraguayan passport and has been listed as a wanted criminal by Interpol.


The report stated that a Nigerian court has accused him of orchestrating a cryptocurrency scam in the country, attracting investors to deposit funds by promising high returns. However, the victims were unable to withdraw funds or access the platform afterwards, with an estimated amount involved of about $49.4 million. Argentine authorities have stated that they will cooperate with Nigeria to initiate the extradition process.
