According to PolyBeats monitoring, on the Polymarket prediction market, 3 new accounts have placed a $51.3k bet on "Will traffic in the Hormuz Strait return to normal before May?", with the current "Yes" probability at 26%.
After Iran announced the opening of the strait on the 17th, more than 20 ships started moving towards the Hormuz, but soon reports emerged of the Iranian military firing on departing oil tankers, causing the ships to halt quickly, with some even turning back to "seek safety assurances."
Amid the escalating US-Iran tensions, oil tankers remain stranded in the Hormuz, with analysts warning that even if a ceasefire is reached, "it may take months for oil shipping and prices to return to normal." Reuters believes the "strait has not truly opened" and that "the risk of attacks is likely to keep it in this state."
