Prior to this, a radio communication warning stated that the Iranian armed forces had resumed "strict management and control" of the strait. Several ships in the area heard the warning, which has been confirmed. On the same day, the British maritime security firm Pioneer Technology released a report revealing details of the attacks on three ships in the vicinity of the Strait of Hormuz. The incident involved an oil tanker, a cargo ship, and a container ship.
