BlockBeats News, April 18th: Within hours of the Iranian Foreign Minister announcing the full reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, at least eight oil tankers swiftly headed towards the strait. Ship tracking data shows that five of them, which were previously anchored north of Dubai, began to enter the waterway on Friday afternoon local time, shortly after the Iranian Foreign Minister's announcement of the complete opening of the strait.
Another three tankers that were waiting about 70 miles to the west have also started to move towards the strait. If these vessels continue their course, their actions would mark one of the most definite signals towards the opening of the Strait of Hormuz to non-Iranian-related shipping since the outbreak of the war on February 28th. Despite Iranian media reports suggesting the country is still trying to impose restrictions, these oil tankers continue to move. (Kryptonite)
