The US is considering returning to Pakistan and Iran for negotiations within a few days

BlockBeats News, April 18th - While implementing a maritime blockade against Iran, the Trump administration is considering restarting diplomatic efforts within days, potentially redeploying senior officials to Pakistan to resume negotiations with the Iranian side. It is understood that the relevant arrangements are still under evaluation and the talks could restart as early as next Monday.

Vice President Pence is seen as a potential delegation leader and may travel to Islamabad with Middle East Envoy Wittkof to continue previous backchannel talks. Last week's negotiations in Pakistan did not lead to a breakthrough, with the US and Iran still differing on key issues such as Iran's nuclear activities and conditions for ending the conflict.

However, both the US and Iran have signaled a willingness to continue dialogue, indicating that diplomatic channels are not yet closed. Meanwhile, European leaders held an emergency meeting in Paris to discuss ensuring freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, including measures such as escort operations, mine clearance, and intelligence sharing.
