BlockBeats News, April 17th, according to AXIOS, two U.S. officials and two sources familiar with the negotiations revealed that the U.S. and Iran are in negotiations over a three-page plan to end the war, with one discussed element being the U.S. unfreezing $200 billion of Iranian funds in exchange for Iran giving up its enriched uranium stockpile.
According to the two sources, in the early stages of the negotiations, the U.S. proposed unfreezing $60 billion for humanitarian goods, while Iran requested $270 billion. The sources said that the latest figure discussed between the U.S. and Iran is $200 billion. One U.S. official stated that this was a U.S. proposal. Another U.S. official described the concept of "cash for uranium" as "one of many discussions."
At the same time, the U.S. is demanding Iran to agree to ship all its nuclear materials to the U.S., while Iran is only agreeing to "dilution" within Iran. According to the compromise solution being discussed, some highly enriched uranium will be shipped to a third country (not necessarily the U.S.), while some will be diluted under international supervision within Iran.
