Google's AI programming tool Antigravity has been experiencing multiple days of downtime, with paying users being locked out for up to 7 days. The official team has not responded to the issue so far.
According to Sentinel Beating monitoring, Google's AI programming IDE Antigravity has experienced widespread service interruptions over the past week. A downtime on April 14-15 lasted over 9 hours, during which all models (including Gemini 3.1 Pro, Gemini 3.1 Flash, and Claude accessed through Antigravity) were rendered unusable, returning HTTP 503 errors and "Our servers are experiencing high traffic right now" messages. Within one day, the relevant thread on Google's official developer forum received 120 replies and 80 users reported the same issue.
The problem goes beyond just temporary outages. Pro users paying $20 per month reported that the advertised 5-hour quota reset cycle has actually turned into a complete lockout lasting 5 to 7 days, during which no models can be used. Google's response was a popup suggesting an upgrade to the $200 per month Ultra plan. However, Ultra users similarly reported silently reduced quotas and unavailable services. An Ultra subscriber warned on the forum: "Don't upgrade, Ultra is the same now, quotas silently cut, no customer service, no announcement." Ironically, the bug feedback tool built into Antigravity itself was also unable to submit, forcing users to flock to the forum.
This is not an isolated failure. The earliest quota anomaly complaint thread on the forum dates back to January 25 this year, accumulating over 639 replies and 26,500 views to date, with the issue persisting unresolved for nearly three months. Several new threads have emerged in the past week: "Antigravity completely unusable," "Pro account locked for 7 days requesting manual quota reset," "Clicking retry instead locks the entire account." Some users have uninstalled Antigravity in favor of Cursor and Claude Code, with comments like "bye bye antigravity hi cursor" receiving high praise on the forum.
Antigravity is Google's core product in the AI programming tool race, integrating multi-model invocation, browser control, CLI execution, and inference mode switching. When it was launched earlier this year, it was positioned as a direct competitor to Cursor and Claude Code. However, from user feedback, the product's fundamental reliability has yet to reach a production level. Paying users being locked out for days, no official communication, even the bug feedback channel is broken; this is fatal for a tool that requires developers to migrate their daily workflows. The competition among AI programming tools has entered a stage of stability and trust. Downtime itself is not uncommon, but three months of quota chaos coupled with a complete lack of official response is driving early adopters toward competitors.
