Tether Bitcoin Reserves Increase to 97,141 BTC, Unrealized Gain Reaches $2.175 Billion

BlockBeats News, April 15th. According to EmberCN's monitoring, the BTC reserve address of USDT issuer Tether withdrew 951 BTC ($70.47 million) from Bitfinex 15 minutes ago, likely representing the BTC purchased in the first quarter of this year.

The BTC held in this address was purchased by Tether using 15% of the company's profits since 2023, and is usually withdrawn from Bitfinex a few days after the end of each quarter for the BTC purchased in the previous quarter. The reserve address holds 97,141 BTC ($7.2 billion), making it the fifth largest wallet. Based on the price at the time of withdrawal from Bitfinex, the average purchase price of these BTC is around $51,312, currently showing an unrealized gain of $2.175 billion.
