Stanford Report: Emerging Markets Workplace AI Adoption Rate Exceeds 80%, Southeast Asia Most Optimistic, India Sees Fastest Growth in AI Anxiety

According to 1M AI News monitoring, by 2025, 58% of the global workforce will be using AI in their jobs on a semi-regular or regular basis. The Stanford 2026 AI Index Report shows that this proportion is over 80% in India, China, Nigeria, the UAE, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia, higher than in most developed countries.

In terms of regional sentiments, Southeast Asia is the most optimistic: over 80% of respondents in Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, and Singapore believe that AI will profoundly change their lives in 3 to 5 years, with Malaysia experiencing the largest increase. However, in India, AI anxiety has increased by 14 percentage points in one year, with excitement only increasing by 2 percentage points, marking the largest increase in anxiety globally.
