Trump Suggests Action Against Iran to Continue After Ceasefire

BlockBeats News, April 14th. Local time in the United States, President Trump stated on Monday that if a peace agreement to end the war with Iran is not reached before the ceasefire ends, "it will not be a pleasant thing for them." When asked by a reporter if his previous threat that "the whole civilization will be destroyed" still holds if the two-week ceasefire ends without an agreement, Trump responded, "I don't want to comment on that, but it will not be a pleasant thing for them."

Trump announced last week that he agreed to a two-week ceasefire with Iran, but peace talks held in Pakistan over the weekend failed. Vice President Pence stated that Iran would not commit to giving up its nuclear weapons program. Before the ceasefire, Trump also threatened to destroy Iran's power plants and stated that whether an agreement is reached "is irrelevant to me." (FX168)
