Trump and U.S. Military at Odds over Blockade Caliber, Actual Scope or Limited to Iranian Ports

BlockBeats News, April 13th: There is a discrepancy in the description of Trump's and CENTCOM's statements regarding the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz. The U.S. military's official statement is more restrained, targeting only Iranian ports rather than the entire Strait of Hormuz.

Yesterday, Trump stated that the U.S. Navy would blockade the Strait of Hormuz and intercept all ships paying passage fees to Iran.

However, CENTCOM issued a notice stating that CENTCOM forces will start implementing a maritime traffic blockade for all inbound and outbound Iranian port traffic on April 13th at 10 a.m. Eastern Time (22:00 Beijing Time today). It will impartially apply to all national ships going to and from Iranian ports and coastal areas (including all Iranian ports in the Arabian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman).
