Iran Says U.S. Warship Tried to "Penetrate" Strait of Hormuz, Creating Illusion of Successful Passage

BlockBeats News, April 12th. On the 12th local time, Iran stated that the US ships USS Frank E. Peterson and USS Michael Murphy attempted to "penetrate" the Strait of Hormuz the previous day. The US ships took advantage of the ceasefire conditions, aiming to create false propaganda of a "successful passage" and to influence the ongoing US-Iran negotiations.

The Iranian side claimed that these two warships attempted to impersonate Omani commercial vessels sailing along the southern coast of the Arabian Sea. They chose a highly risky route very close to the coast with shallow waters, hoping to enter the Persian Gulf through "concealed" maneuvers and Iranian military's "negligence" during the ceasefire. The Iranian navy eventually intercepted them at the entrance to the Persian Gulf. The two destroyers, unable to enter the Strait of Hormuz, were forced to retreat into the Arabian Sea. (CCTV News)
