Vance: Failure to Reach Agreement Due to Tehran's Refusal to Abandon Pursuit of Nuclear Weapons

BlockBeats News, April 12th, according to The Wall Street Journal report, U.S. Vice President Pence said after a marathon peace negotiation between the U.S. and Iran that the two sides failed to reach an agreement because Tehran refused to give up its pursuit of nuclear weapons. "Unfortunately, we have not made any progress," Pence also called on Iran to make a clear commitment to no longer seek nuclear weapons. Iran's chief negotiator, on the other hand, said that Washington had failed to earn its trust.

Additionally, the U.S. also stated that two U.S. Navy destroyers passed through the Strait of Hormuz on Saturday, marking the first time U.S. warships have traveled through the waterway since the war began. In response, the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Navy denied that these vessels passed through the strait and stated that any attempt to pass through the water passage would face a "decisive and harsh response."
