The US Navy has reported that two destroyers transited the Strait of Hormuz to conduct a mine clearance operation.

BlockBeats News, April 12th, according to Reuters, the U.S. military said on Saturday that it has started to establish conditions to clear mines in the Strait of Hormuz and two U.S. Navy ships have passed through this strategic waterway.


The U.S. Central Command posted a statement on social media on the 11th, stating that two U.S. missile destroyers crossed the Strait of Hormuz, are operating in the Persian Gulf, and that mine clearance operations in the Strait of Hormuz have begun. U.S. Central Command Commander Brad Cooper said: "Today, we initiated the process of opening a new maritime route, soon we will share this safe passage with the shipping industry to facilitate the free flow of commerce."
