The source familiar with the negotiation process stated that they estimate it will take several days of negotiations to finalize a ceasefire agreement. Pakistani officials hope to persuade Pence to extend his stay in Pakistan to assist in this effort. Additionally, a senior official from the Gulf region disclosed that Iran has very little trust in US President Trump's envoy, Wittkof.
Previously, Wittkof had led multiple rounds of talks with Iran, all of which were disrupted by US military strikes against Iran. Wittkof is one of the US delegation members participating in the Islamabad talks.
