Saudi Arabia Hit by Multiple Energy Facility Attacks: Oilfield and Refinery Damaged, Exports and Production Capacity Simultaneously Under Pressure

BlockBeats News, April 10th, according to the Saudi Press Agency and a source from the Ministry of Energy, a recent series of attacks on Saudi energy infrastructure has caused a significant impact on the crude oil production and export system.

Specifically, the production facilities of the Khurais and Manifa oil fields were successively attacked, resulting in a daily production reduction of about 300,000 barrels each; at the same time, a key pump station on the east-west oil pipeline was damaged, further causing a daily oil transmission decrease of about 700,000 barrels.

The refining sector has also been affected, with several large facilities including the Jubail Satorp refinery, the Ras Tanura refinery, the Yanbu Samref refinery, and the Riyadh refinery impacted, directly affecting the refining products' export capacity to the global market.

In addition, the Jazan processing facility suffered a fire, disrupting the export of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and liquefied natural gas (LNG). The Saudi Ministry of Energy confirmed that the related attacks have led to the death of an energy company industrial security officer, and some energy facilities' operations have been forced to suspend.
