Reuters: Israeli Army Kills Hezbollah Leader's Nephew in Lebanon

BlockBeats News, April 9th, according to Reuters, the Israeli military said on Thursday that it had killed the nephew of Iran-backed Lebanese Hezbollah leader Naim Qassem in an overnight attack on Beirut, not Naim Qassem himself.

Naim Qassem has held a senior position in Hezbollah for over 30 years and officially became the new leader of Hezbollah in 2024. In 2024, with the support of the United States, Israel and Hezbollah reached a ceasefire agreement, ending over a year of fighting. However, Israel has since regularly attacked Lebanese Hezbollah targets it identifies.

Hezbollah has been attacking Israel since the assassination of former Iranian Supreme Leader Khamenei. Since then, Israel has caused the death of over a thousand people in Lebanon.
