BlockBeats News, April 9th. On April 9th local time, it was reported that the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy issued a statement stating that due to the recent war situation, there may be anti-ship mines in the main traffic area of the Strait of Hormuz. Vessels planning to pass through the strait should coordinate with the Revolutionary Guard Navy and pass through the strait via the alternate route set by them to avoid mine contact. According to the map attached to the statement, the alternate route requires passing vessels to enter and exit the Persian Gulf respectively from the north and south sides of Larak Island in the northern part of the strait.
The Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization released a Strait of Hormuz waterway security route map on the 8th, informing incoming and outgoing vessels to comply with maritime safety principles and avoid mines. The organization stated that from February 28th to April 8th, there have been ongoing conflicts in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz, and various anti-ship mines may be present in the main channel of the Strait of Hormuz.
