Dell CEO: AI Memory Demand to Skyrocket 625x, Divide Isn’t Buy or Not But When

According to 1M AI News monitoring, Dell Technologies CEO Michael Dell stated that the AI boom will drive a global memory explosion, with demand expected to increase by 625x. This staggering prediction is based on two main factors: the memory capacity per server or device will expand by about 25x, and the overall scale of AI deployments will also grow by around 25x.

Despite supply constraints, Michael Dell holds an optimistic view of the overall AI infrastructure demand outlook, highlighting two main demand drivers. Firstly, there is sovereign AI investment, with most countries ranking in the top 25 of global GDP advancing their national sovereign AI projects in some form. Geopolitical tensions further accelerate the willingness of countries to build autonomous AI capabilities, thereby driving sustained strong server demand. Secondly, there is productivity driving demand from enterprises. It is not reasonable for employees to continue using outdated PCs or inefficient systems. For productivity reasons, enterprises will have to continue advancing infrastructure investments.

Regarding the existing demand uncertainty in the market, Michael Dell has provided a clear qualitative assessment. The current market divergence is not about whether to buy or not, but about when to buy.
