The US is preparing to hold face-to-face talks with Iran, possibly attended by Haines

BlockBeats News, April 8th, according to CNN, U.S. officials said the Trump administration is preparing to hold face-to-face talks between American and Iranian officials in the coming days, as both sides seek to reach a long-term agreement to end the war between Washington and Tehran.

White House press secretary Levitt said: "The possibility of holding face-to-face talks is currently being discussed, but nothing is conclusive until the president or the White House officially announces it." Officials said the talks are likely to take place in Islamabad, with Pakistan serving as a mediator. They added that with the two-week ceasefire agreement announced tonight by the U.S. and Iran, the likelihood of the talks taking place is increasing.

According to officials, Trump's envoy Whitcomb, son-in-law Kushner, and Vice President Vance are expected to attend. Vance is currently visiting Hungary, and sources said he may add a stop to his itinerary if the timing is right.
