Vitalik shares his local LLM personal setup, calls for building more secure, open source, localized, privacy-focused AI tools

BlockBeats News, April 2nd, Vitalik Buterin shared on his personal blog his autonomous, local, private, and secure LLM personal setup. The setup includes NVIDIA 5090 GPU laptop, Qwen3.5:35B model, llama.cpp inference tool, bubblewrap sandboxing, NixOS system, as well as custom proxies and local knowledge base to reduce reliance on remote services.

Vitalik stated that if used properly, artificial intelligence can actually create a future with stronger privacy and security. Locally generated code can replace the need to download large complex external libraries, enabling more software to be minimalist and self-contained. Vitalik also called for more people to focus on building secure, open-source, localized, privacy-focused AI tools that users can use with confidence, shifting control and power to the hands of users.
