Trump once threatened to cut off arms supplies to Ukraine if Europe did not join the Strait of Hormuz alliance

BlockBeats News, April 2nd. According to the Financial Times, sources revealed that Trump threatened to stop providing weapons to Ukraine unless Europe joins the Strait of Hormuz Alliance. Last month, Trump asked NATO navies to assist him in reopening the strait but was rejected by European governments.

Three officials familiar with the discussion said that Trump responded by threatening to halt supplies to the "Prioritized Ukraine Resilience on Land" (PURL) project. As a result, under the urging of NATO Secretary General Stoltenberg, several key member states, including France, Germany, and the UK, hastily issued a statement on March 19th stating, "We are willing to make a suitable contribution to ensure safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz."

One official familiar with the discussion said, "Stoltenberg insisted on issuing this joint statement because Trump had threatened to withdraw from the 'Transatlantic Partnership Alliance' and completely withdraw from Ukrainian affairs." (Golden Finance)
