BlockBeats News, March 31st - In an interview with CBS News, Trump said he is "not ready to give up" efforts to pressure Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. A CBS reporter called Trump on Tuesday morning to seek clarification on his earlier suggestion of a possible abandonment of related actions. Trump reiterated his dissatisfaction with other countries not sending military forces to participate in U.S.-led military actions against Iran but stated he is not prepared to have the U.S. withdraw from the conflict. "I will do it at some point, but not now. Other countries must get involved and handle it themselves. Iran has been weakened, but they have to do the job themselves."
Trump also emphasized that despite Iran's ongoing attacks on ships and Gulf state infrastructure, there is "no real threat" to the Strait of Hormuz. "Let them fight their own battles. They are not willing to help anyone. NATO is very bad, they are all very bad. So if they want oil, they should go and get it themselves," Trump said. (FX Street)
