Trump Envoy Casts Wide Net, Weighing Who Can Seal Peace Deal

BlockBeats News, March 31st, according to CNN reports, as Trump's envoys prepare to once again attempt diplomacy with Iran, a key question looms over their efforts: whether the officials they are engaging with have sufficient authority to reach an agreement. U.S. and Gulf officials say American officials are not entirely sure whether the regime figures they are engaging with have the ultimate power to sign any peace agreement, let alone implement one.

However, according to four regional sources, given the unclear identity of decision-makers within the Iranian regime, the U.S. government is still casting a wide net in search of officials to engage with. One source familiar with the developments said, "Getting a quick response from the country is not easy, so more time must be given as a prerequisite for future dialogue." U.S. and regional officials say that although the likelihood of face-to-face talks this week is slim, both sides have taken this opportunity for dialogue seriously so far. (IG)
