Israeli Air Force Major Faces Accusations of Profiting from Insider Information on Polymarket

BlockBeats News, March 27th, according to The Times of Israel, a court in Tel Aviv revealed on Thursday that an Israeli Air Force reservist is suspected of profiting from trading on Polymarket using classified information about last year's Israel-Iran war.

The defendant, a former Air Force lieutenant colonel, was charged last month with serious security offenses, as well as bribery and obstruction of justice. They are suspected to have traded on the timing of Israel's first airstrike during the 12-day war launched in June 2025. The authorities have not disclosed the suspect's identity or the specific details of the trades. The case was initially under a court order protection, but on Thursday evening, after applications from several Hebrew media outlets, parts of the order were lifted, allowing the case details to be made public, although the defendant's name remains undisclosed.

After successfully predicting the events in June last year, the two individuals collectively received $162,663 and agreed to split the money. Last month, prosecutors filed lawsuits against the two individuals in the Tel Aviv District Court and sought to keep them in custody until the legal process is concluded.
