The US Military is considering deploying a parachute regiment to Iran for the purpose of seizing Kish Island

BlockBeats News, March 24th, according to The New York Times, U.S. Department of Defense officials said senior military officials are considering deploying a combat brigade of the Army's 82nd Airborne Division and some of the division's headquarters staff to support U.S. military operations in Iran. Officials described these military actions as carefully planned and noted that neither the Department of Defense nor U.S. Central Command has issued any orders.

The combat forces would come from the 82nd Airborne Division's "Immediate Response Force," a brigade of about 3,000 soldiers capable of deploying to anywhere in the world within 18 hours. This force could be used to seize Iran's major oil export hub, Kharq Island. Another possibility under consideration is that if President Trump authorizes the U.S. military to seize the island, the about 2,500-strong 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit en route to the region could be deployed.
