The mediation country between the US and Iran is planning to convene a meeting in Islamabad later this week.

BlockBeats News, March 23rd, according to AXIOS, President Trump today told reporters that his envoy had a meeting with a senior Iranian official and claimed that they had reached agreement on many issues. Iran, however, denied such negotiations and said that Trump's move was only aimed at stabilizing the energy market.

An Israeli official told Axios that U.S. envoys Wietkovich and Kushner had talked to Iranian Parliament Speaker Calibaf. However, Trump did not disclose the identity of the Iranian interlocutor, saying he did not want the other party to be killed, but he said the U.S. and Iran were on the same page on many key issues.

The Israeli official revealed that a mediating country is trying to convene a meeting in Islamabad—represented by Calibaf and other Tehran officials, with Wietkovich, Kushner, and possibly Vice President Vance representing the U.S.—the meeting could take place later this week. The official also said that Israel had previously been aware of indirect communication between the U.S. and Tehran, but was surprised by Trump's remarks on Monday. "We didn't know things were moving so fast."
