BlockBeats News, March 23, On-chain detective ZachXBT revealed today that a coordinated network of at least 10 accounts is gaining traffic on social platform X by creating panic-inducing content such as war-related narratives, ultimately directing it to a crypto scam project. This network, by purchasing accounts with existing follower bases, consistently posts sensationalist "apocalyptic" content and leverages multiple alt accounts to amplify the dissemination through mutual retweeting, rapidly garnering millions of views and engagement.
The investigation indicates that these accounts also utilize AI-generated fake personas, for example, creating a counterfeit "Asian version of Mario Nawfal" to enhance credibility. After obtaining traffic, the related accounts promote fake airdrop events or crypto scams, including a heavily promoted pump and dump project named ORAMAMA on February 22, 2026, which was then abandoned. On-chain data suggests that this operation has yielded six-figure profits for the orchestrating team. Additionally, numerous genuine large accounts unwittingly engage in comments and retweets, further amplifying the content's reach.
ZachXBT warned that this combination of "traffic farming + AI content + crypto scam" is highly developed and easily replicable. If similar mechanisms are exploited by higher-level organizations, their potential impact could extend far beyond the realm of financial fraud, potentially evolving into a tool for opinion manipulation. ZachXBT urges platforms to enhance supervision, impose bans and legal repercussions on such manipulative behavior. Users are advised to carefully examine account histories and information sources before engaging to counter the increasingly prevalent dissemination of fake content and "engagement bait" tactics.
