Dan Romero Clarifies Top 5 MPP Myths, States IETF Web Standard Proposal Submitted

BlockBeats News, March 20th, Farcaster co-founder Dan Romero (previously joined Tempo) posted an article clarifying five misconceptions about MPP. Dan stated that MPP is not exclusive to Tempo, the protocol is agnostic to the payment method, supporting both cryptocurrency and fiat, and any blockchain, currently expanded to the Bitcoin Lightning Network, with a Solana extension proposal in place.

In terms of usage cost, MPP itself has no inherent fee, the specific cost depends on the blockchain or fiat channel used; in terms of openness, MPP is designed to be simple and scalable, currently submitted as a Web standard to the IETF.

Furthermore, MPP supports both Pay-per-request and session-based modes, the latter suitable for continuous micro-payments requiring API speed; Dan also emphasized that MPP achieves secure HTTP communication and separates the payment channel, not relying on specific smart wallet implementations or stablecoins.
